VIDEO TL;DR FOR X / PRIVACY POLICY
Summaries stay
on your device.
Last updated October 1, 2026. Video TL;DR for X creates transcripts and summaries of videos on x.com using Chrome's built-in, on-device AI. It is designed so your data never leaves your computer.
What the extension accesses
Posts on x.com pages you visit, to add the TL;DR button and to read each video's file links, author name, and post text. Video files from video.twimg.com, downloaded only to extract audio for transcription.
Where processing happens
All transcription and summarization runs locally with Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model. Audio, video, transcripts, and summaries are never sent to the developer or to any third-party server.
What is stored
Transcripts, summaries, and your settings are saved in your browser's local extension storage so finished summaries open instantly. You can delete them anytime with "Clear saved summaries" in the extension's settings, or by removing the extension.
What is not collected
The extension does not collect personal information, browsing history, analytics, or usage data. It uses no cookies or trackers, and it does not sell or share any data.
Support messages
If you contact support, we receive only the information you choose to include in that message.
