What Hushmark is
Hushmark is a local-first tool for finding and replacing sensitive information in documents before you share them. It is designed to support your review. It is not a legal, compliance, medical, financial, or security certification service.
Your documents and your responsibility
You decide which files to open, which findings to redact, and where to save the exported copy. You are responsible for checking automated findings, checking for information the detector missed, and confirming that the exported file is suitable for its intended recipient.
Use the manual blackout tool for signatures, photos, handwriting, barcodes, and other material that automated detection may not recognize. Keep the original and redacted copy under your own access controls.
Acceptable use
Use Hushmark only with documents you are allowed to access and process. Do not use it to violate another person’s privacy, evade a legal obligation, or create a misleading document. Do not rely on it as the only control for a high-risk disclosure.
Availability and changes
The MVP may change, stop working on a particular device, or be withdrawn while it is being developed. Local operation depends on the browser, operating system, available memory, and supported file format. No uptime promise is made for this portfolio-stage project.
No warranty
Hushmark is provided as a work in progress, without a promise that every sensitive value will be detected or removed. To the extent allowed by law, the maker is not responsible for a disclosure, loss, or other harm resulting from a user’s reliance on the tool or an exported file.
